For a map either use the link on the webpage or use stadtplandienst.de

By car

You can either drive to autobahn intersection maschen, change on the A250, leave it at "maschen" (just a few meters), follow the B4 to the center of stelle, turn right into "unter den linden" and follow it for some time until you crossed a bridge over the autobahn. then after another kilometer or so, make a left into "kieselshoeh", just before a small restaurant that is also called "kieselshoeh", then after ~500m make a right into "wittenkuhlen" (a very small way that has a field to the left and (i think) a few houses in the wood to its right). at the end of the field, make a left into an even smaller way, which is the access road to the house.

alternatively, you can go on the A7 to "ramelsloh", follow the ohlendorfer strasse in eastern direction. make a left into steller strasse. the steller strasse then changes into "unter den linden". follow it through the wood for some time until you see the small restaurant and street "kieselshoeh" on the right. then use the description above.

Honx will also try to put up some signs saying "#unix".

If neccessary, map24.com offers a routing planner.

if you get "lost" in stelle and ask, ask for "kieselshoeh" which should be known by everyone. asking for wittenkuhlen or the landheim stelle will probably not work.

Public transport

There are two ways to get from Hamburg Main Station ("Hauptbahnhof") to Stelle. Either take the S3 or S31 (direction either harburg/harburg-rathaus or neugraben) south for 13 minutes and change into the R30 at "Harburg" (goes at least once per hour from track 3 or 4). Or you can take the R30 directrly from Hauptbahnhof.
If arriving at the airport, I suggest taking Jasper Airport Shuttle to the central station and proceeding from there. Those shuttle busses depart from the airport about every 10-15 minutes. If you need some challenge, ask Geofox for another route, it knows about the airport.

Going from hauptbahnhof without changing the train only works during rush hours on weekdays (5:58 - 7:30 & 14:34 - 18:34) outside of rush hours and on the weekend, you have to use the S3/R30 combo and switch trains at harburg

Go to Geofox, enter "Hauptbahnhof" as station and then select "R30, Hauptbahnhof -> Winsen(Luhe), Lueneburg, Uelzen" and press "timetable" to get a complete list of the hourly trains going from main station to stelle. use the same geofox form with "harburg" as start to get the trains from harburg to stelle.
there are two types of R30 trains. some of these do not stop in stelle! especially, the ones going from hauptbahnhof outside of rush hours do _NOT_ stop in stelle. if in doubt, better ask...

if you get on the train at hauptbahnhof, you can either buy a ticket from the deutsche bahn (red or blue ticket machines) from hamburg to stelle, or you can buy a ticket from HVV (orange ticket machines) to "maschen" and then buy a ticket on the train from the conductor from maschen to stelle (1 station, should be 1.2E). the second alternative should be cheaper but is more complicated and if you get a conductor in a bad mood, he might give you a problem about this.

if you use the S3/R30 combo from hauptbahnhof, or go from hamburg-harburg, buy a HVV ticket (orange ticket machines) to maschen and buy a ticket to stelle on the train as described above.

this might help a little: http://www.hvv.de/pdf/schnellbahnplan.pdf: the R30 is in the center at the bottom. stelle is not on that map anymore, but it is the first station after maschen.

also, you can get a plan of all R30 trains from Geofox (select "R30" as line and "R30 (DB-Regio) Altona -> Uelzen" as direction).

Money

The price is 8E per person and night. The minimum number of people we have to pay for is 18. currently, 18 people have registered, so we should be ok. since not everyone is staying the full for days, expect to pay a little more, maybe 8,5E or so. We will distribute the actual costs over the number of nights that people stayed. We also have to pay for electricity..but that should not be much.

Please bring enough cash since we will have to extend about half of the price (300E) in advance and pay the rest when we leave...

We will collect 50E from everyone who arrives to pay for food and use the rest for beer/house.
We'll have a tally sheet like at the CP98 and then do an individual calculation for everyone at the end of the CP.

Food & Beer

We will organize beer and food. We will probabLy go shopping in Stelle (which has just about everything we need) and again split up the costs. Last cp in pattensen, barbecuing worked quite well. this house has a nice large fireplace and a large barbecue.

The house has a large industrial-strength kitchen

Beer will be around 50 eurocent..

Entertainment

There is a CD-player and honx will bring one that can play mp3 CDs. i will try to organize a beamer and bring my notebook so we can watch DVDs (Feel free to bring movies).

Accomodations

The house has small rooms with 1-4 beds, some of them have a wash-basin. there are 4 showers and 7 washing rooms.

You will definitely need to bring covers and sheets for the beds! Sleeping bags are not allowed in the beds...

When we leave, we'll have to leave the house "broom clean" but not really clean it.

We will be alone in the house, no other group and no warden will be there. We can make as much noise as we want, there are no houses nearby. There also is a small field where you can play football etc...

Before anyone asks: there is no net connections. for cases of serious withdrawal, there is a phone which (i think) we can use...

Honx will get the keys to the house wednesday evening, the official "start" of the channel party will be ~10:00 on thursday. Honx will be at the house at about that time. The end is some time sunday afternoon or early evening.

Got lost?

On Thursday, there will be someone reachable on the phone in case of an emergency or someone getting lost. Try thiemo on +49 xxx xxxxxxx or honx on +49 xxx xxxxxxx, one beer per minute will be charged in either case.
